What does Training Involve?
Training to become a Street Pastor takes place over 12 sessions which take place on Saturdays.
These sessions cover key topics which will help develop a persons knowledge of the issues affecting the community they live in, and how as Christians they can make a difference.
Topics are: Roles & Responsibilities
Sociology
Education
Knowing your community
Statutory agency: Police
Counselling
Drugs awareness
Alcohol awareness
Solvent awareness
Statutory agency: Probation
Statutory agency: Children’s Services
Youth Culture
Good News
Mentoring
Mental Health
Sometimes two of these topics are covered in one session.
Stevenage Street Pastors will run the course at least once a year.
